Transfer to Tawang - Early morning breakfast - Next Transfer to Tawang - Tawang is approximately 155 kilometres and is a drive of roughly 06 hours - Most of the travel from the plains is on a steep hill road journey, crossing Sela Pass at 4,176 metres i.e.13,701 feet - Tourists can travel to Tawang from Tezpur, Assam by road and Tezpur has direct flights from Kolkata - Tawang is a district of the state of Arunachal Pradesh in India and is also a small Town - It once served as the district headquarters of West Kameng district - Tawang was historically part of Tibet inhabited by the Monpa people - The Tawang Monastery was founded by the Merak Lama Lodre Gyatso in 1681 in accordance with the wishes of the 5th Dalai Lama, Ngawang Lobsang Gyatso, which means "Chosen by Horse" - The sixth Dalai Lama, Tsangyang Gyatso, was born in Tawang - Tawang town is located approximately 555 kilometres from Guwahati and 320 kilometres from Tezpur with an average elevation of 2,669 metres i.e. 8,757 feet - Enroute witness the snowcapped Sella Pass at 14000 feet - Jaswant Garh War Memorial - 14th Dalai Lama fled from Tibet to escape from Chinese army on 30 March 1959 at the Tawang Monastery before reaching Tezpur in Assam The festivals of Monpas are mostly associated with agriculture and religion - Monpas of Tawang district celebrates numbers of festivals every year - Some important festivals are-Losar, Torgya, Dungyur, Choekor, Ganden Ggamchoe, Drukpa, Tse-ze and Zhepa Saka Dawa etc - Tawang Monastery is said to be the biggest Buddhist monastery in the world outside of Lhasa, Tibet - Overnight stay in Tawang

Tawang Local Sightseeing - The beautiful land of the Monpa tribes with the “Galden Namgyel Lhatse” Monastary - One of the largest Lamaseries of Mahayana sect in Asia - “TA” means Horse and “Wang” means Chosen - The Monastery is believed to have chosen by a Horse owned by Mera Lama Lodre Gyatso - Mera Lama Lodre Gyatso was on search for an appropriate place to establish a Monastery and was unable to locate any appropriate site - Finally he decided to sit on prayer for a guidance of a divine power - As he opened his eyes after prayer, he found his horse missing - So wearily he went out for searching his horse and found it on top of hill calm and quite - The birth place of the 6th Dalai Lama, the Monastery is 400 year old and is adorned with the 18 feet high statue of Lord Buddha - ‘The Land of Dawn-lit Mountains’ at 3500 meters gives you unparallel purity of nature - Visit to Tawang monastery, The War Memorial, Apple Orchard, Hot water spring, etc – Visit to any two of the Gompha like Regyaling Gompa, Urgelling Gompa, Gyangong Ani Gompa & Singsor Ani Gompa - The lake was renamed after Madhuri Dixit shot here for the film Koyla - Evening free for shopping - Overnight stay in Tawang

Excursion to Sela Pass & Sangetsar Lake - Early morning breakfast and start the excursion to Sela Pass - Other than its geographical hugeness, Sela Pass is stunning spot always solicited in snow giving some delightful points of view of the eastern Himalayan range - The harsh pass is moreover home to one of Arunachal's most delightful lakes - Sela Pass is one of the most visited places in Arunachal Pradesh and Sela Pass is at an elevation of 4,170 meters and you can experience a slice of heaven on earth here - It is approximately 75 kilometres and is nearly 02 1/2 - 03 hours drive via NH13 - Sela Pass does get heavy snow during winters, there is no stopping to experiencing that either - It is usually open throughout the year unless landslides slide in of course - An interesting feature of Sela Pass is that, this place houses around 101 lakes around the pass - One such spectacular and famous lakes in Arunachal Pradesh is Sela Lake, it is also called as a Paradise Lake because of its appeal and beauty - Getting to Sela Pass is just a mere 78 kilometres from Tawang town and it is a significant place for the Buddhists and an interesting attraction for the tourists - Sela Pass does get heavy snowfall in winters, it is usually open throughout the year unless landslides or snow require the pass to be shut down temporarily Madhuri Lake - Other water Bodies are Pangateng Tso Lake or Nagula Lake - Back to Hotel - Night halt in Tawang

Transfer to Bomdila - Morning breakfast - Next drive back to Bomdila - Bomdilla is approximately 185 kilometres and is a drive of roughly 06 hours - It is inhabited by the Monpa, Sherdukpen, Miji, Bugun (Khowa) and Aka tribes - On the way stop at Gontse Rabgyaling Monastery (Upper Gonpa) & Thub-Chog Gatsel Ling Monastery (Lower Gonpa) - Morning / Evening one can visit the View Point - Bomdila is the headquarters of West Kameng district in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in India and is the home of the Monpa, Aka, Miji, Sherdukpen, and Bogun tribes - Bomdila offers wonderfully panoramic view of Himalayan landscapes and snow clad ranges & it captivates the beauty of nature - It has an average elevation of 2415 metres i.e. 7923 feet - The Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary is very near Bomdila - Tourism is new to Bomdila because of lack of infrastructure of roads in this region yet one will have decent hotels with tibetian and local food - The Bomdila pass offers views of Kangto and Gorichen Peaks, the highest in the state – On the way visit GRL Tibetan Buddhist Monastery – Guests can visit the village in the afternoon - Explore the markets and do a little shopping - One can also visit apple orchards and orchid farms if on season - Evening just stroll around the Village - Overnight stay in Bomdila
