Day – 01 – Arrival at Dharan – Dharan is about 40 kilometers from Biratnagar & Kakarvita (Siliguri) is 110 kilometers and is nearly 02 – 03 hours drive via via E – W Highway / Asean Highway 02 – Dharan is one out of two sub-metropolitan cities in Province No. 1 of Nepal, in the Sunsari District – It is situated on the foothills of the Mahabharat Range in the north with its southern tip touching the edge of the Terai region at an altitude of 1148 feet i.e. 349 meters – It was once the location of a recruitment center for the Brigade of Gurkhas (1953) and is now the home of B.P. Day – 02 – Forest Activities at Koshi Tappu & Bhedetar – Early morning breakfast – Next travel to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve – Bhedetar is a small hill station just 16 kilometers from Dharan – It is nearly 50 kilometers drive and is nearly 1 1/2 – 02 hours Next start the Jungle Safari (Koshitappu reserves)by jeep – The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is a protected area in the Terai of eastern Nepal covering 175 square kilometers i.e. 68 square miles of wetlands in the Sunsari, Saptari and Udayapur Districts – It comprises extensive mudflats, reed beds, and freshwater marshes in the floodplain of the Sapta Kosi River, and ranges in altitude from 75 meters to 81 meters i.e. 246 feet to 266 feet – Elephant Safari- Return Dharan by 4 PM – Back to hotel – Evening free – Option of shopping at Bhatbhateni supermarket and local market – Night stay at Dharan
