Phidim: Phidim was upgraded into ‘municipality’ from ‘village’ – It serves as a route for trekkers and locals who travel to and from the Taplejung district bordering with the Tibetan Autonomous Region of China – It is also a commercial hub for the rural people of the district – Phidim is within a valley in the foothills of Himalayas in eastern Nepal. It is a hill township. Phidim is a six-hour drive from Birtamod through a winding road via Ilam. From Phidim, there are views of the snow-capped Himalaya, and other hills in the distance. Phidim has tin-roofed houses and small concrete buildings – Two rivers Phewa and Hewa surround the hill where the town is located. The climate of Phidim is mild during the summer and cold and misty in the winter. Maximum temperature in the summer goes up to 25 degree Celsius whereas in winter it lowers to 2 degree Celsius. Phidim is approximately 125 kilometers from Kakarvitta and is nearly 155 from Siliguri. Tourists starts arriving in March & April to indulge in fishing. Fishing is generally in Khewatham river. This river is home to many fishes and also has three falls joining it. These falls are quite important from biological, environmental and tourism point of view. Various species of birds and animals could be seen roaming around the riverbank and many herbs as well as rare trees are also found
Jorpokhari: Jorpokhari has a favorable weather for outdoor excursions. The breezy atmosphere provides an escape from the summer heat. Nonetheless, the locals are working to find a solution to sustain the eco-system of the ponds. Their preservation attempt has led to development activities in the vicinity. Also, the area has a convenient hospitality facility as it is situated next to Mechi Highway.

Miklajung : Nestled among the beautiful hills of Panchthar district, Miklajung has a great potential for becoming a tourist hub. Sadhutar : Tourist, especially youngsters, these days have started traveling to various places inside the country to spend their holidays and unwind. Meanwhile, Sadhutar of Ranitar in Panchthar has been witnessing an influx of domestic tourists of late from Phidim and other local areas. A serene blue pond surrounded by bare hills has become a hotspot for the local people to enjoy the reflection of Himalayan ranges, including Kanchajunga and Kumbhakarna, among others. People enjoy taking photos of the beautiful scenery while having some snacks under the warm sun by the side of the pond in Sadhutar. Sadhutar lies near from Pauwa Bhajyang along the Mechi Highway and an improved road condition has also contributed to its increased popularity. The locals said though the pond had been there for many years, it became well-known after the Department of Water Supply deposited water in the pond. Sher Bhadhur Nemang, ward chairperson of Sadhutar, said the area was getting promoted through the photos uploaded on social media platforms by the visitor
Timbu Pokhari : Sidingba Rural Municipality is preparing to organize the Timbu Pokhari fair to promote the tourism of the region. Timbu Pokhari is located at the lap of the Himalayas, bordering Panchthar and Taplejung. The destination also has a prospect of being ranked among the most prominent tourist destination in the country. Sightseeing, yak viewing, and the presence of multiple ponds are its major attractions. The visitors can indulge not only in the sightseeing of the pond but also take home the experience of witnessing captivating floras, such as Kenzo and Microphylla while hiking. Timbu Pokhari, located at an altitude of 4448 meters above sea level, can be reached by hiking through the Chyangthapu route. To provide ease to the visitors, the locals have also established several resthouses the path.
