Moubari

Moubari is an independent ethnic bamboo cottage built by local craftsman using traditional architecture techniques and primarily natural local material that are sustainable, eco friendly, naturally breathable and natural air-conditioned cottages with its own privacy. This cottages are with basic required facilities and not having any commercial star values, Only Closer to the Nature designed to accommodate Nature loving people.

A concept of Village Tourism: Met the owner a couple of years ago while in a training program. Being a teacher I looked at him as a student requesting me to visit his homestay. His simplicity just could not convince an of being an owner of such a beautiful property. Once I and few of my friends were on a drive to nowhere. . It was an unexpected ride taking an enjoyable backseat. That’s Dakshin Moyamari! a countryside white road full of ups and downs slowly unveils to you the wonderful sunset. The wooden board just atop the winding waterways beckons you to sit with your foot loose and enjoy the twilight with your cup. Cosy, bamboo huts with intimate, friendly decor made of bamboo are the essence of local hospitality. You can feel Nature to its utmost either on a full moon night or during the monsoons! Guests from all over India spend the time to relax or on holidays. Birders also come here to enrich their knowledge on Ornithology

Two number of Bamboo Cottage with attached Bath furnished with Bamboo furniture are another attraction for staying here. One may go for sports angling here on request. The Bengali cuisine with organic food added extra flavor in your holidays. From here one may visit Gorumara National Park, Gajoldoba Bird blind or Khuttimari. But the best ever tour is the Heritage tour or Archaeological tour, where you may discover the ancient Maynaguri. The plantation here is so thick that sunlight barely reaches down to the cottages floor and there are times when it is impossible to see through the thicket. One can enjoy fishing and try some dishes with it. Two numbers of Family cottages furnished with the furnitures made from Bamboo which is an example of Craftsmanship. Not only that one may have Organic foods here spending day with the joy of Sports Angling or to attend the Bamboo Craft Industry as a trainee. Bird watchers may spend their days by spotting birds too. Bird spotted here are Scarlet Minivet, Sunbird, Asian paradise flycatchers, Spangled drongo, Indian hornbill, Woodpeckers, Pheasants, Peafowls, Brahminy duck etc.

This is not only a Home stay, but more of it is Ashram for Bamboo artisans. Many people from different part of Dooars come here and learn the Bamboo Crafts. Free training to work with the owner. He has a lovely pond surrounding the two cottages, few ducks and hens. Its a small worksop of Bamboo art & crafts.

Connectivity: The Dakshin (South) Moubari Village is only Five kilometers from the New Maynaguri and only 65 kilometers from New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. It is well connected with roads.
