Darap Home Stay

Darap is situated nearly 08 kilometers from Pelling and is 20 minutes drive on the way to Yuksom. The Village is inhabited mainly by People from Limboo Community and a small number of families from mixed communities like Bhutias, Chettris, Tamangs, Rais, Gurungs and Lepchas. The land scape of the area is moderately sloppy and gentle valley unlike other locations in west. Because of its location advantage as it is merely some minutes drive away from Pelling Darap possesses tourism potential and the educated youths of this village are actively in to activities of promotion of this little valley. Culturally and traditionally rich Darap appears photogenic when bough wheat farms bear flowers and harvest takes place. Communication

Road from Siliguri takes 6 - 7 hours drive by car and is roughly 150 kilometers. The route followed is Siliguri - Jorethang - Geyzing - Pelling and then to Darap. Bagdogra Airport and New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) is 170 kilometers and the drive is through scenic settings. The drive to Kalimpong is nearly 120 kilometers and Darjeeling is nearly the same distance of 120 kilometers and 4 - 5 hours drive. The state capital of Gangtok is 150 kilometers and is nearly 4 - 5 hours drive. Ravangla and Namchi is nearly 65 kilometers from here and is 2 -3 hours drive. There is an helipad in Pelling. Darap can be reached by shared jeep or by reserved taxi from every corners of the state. It is located mid way between Pelling-Yuksom (anicient capital of Sikkim)-Khechupalri Lake and of course world famous Singhalila Himalayan trek from Nambu and Dzongri Trek from Yuksom,the mystique of Tashiding and other mountaineering routes in West Sikkim
