Khecheopari Lake - It is located in West Sikkim district nearly 35 kilometers from Pelling / Pemayangtse. This lake is considered as a sacred with Maghe Purne and Chho - Tsho festival held every year. It is served by two perennial and five seasonal inlet. The depth of the lake reaches slightly over eleven meters with an average depth of nearly seven meters. The catchment’s area is nearly twelve square kilometers. It is situated near Khecheopalri village. This lake was originally known as Kha - Chot - Palri literally means the heaven of Padmasambhava. It is considered a sacred Lake for Buddhists and Hindus and is called the wish fulfilling lake. It is situated nearly 150 kilometers west of Gangtok and 35 kilometres northwest of Pelling / Pemayangtse in the state of Sikkim. The lake is an integral part of “Demazong" meaning valley of rice. The Lake forms an integral part of Buddhist religious circuit and includes Yuksom, Dubdi Monastery, Pemayangtse Monastery, Hongri Monastery, Rabdentse ruins, Sanga Choeling Monastery, Tashiding Monastery, etc.
