Dooars / Duars is a stretch of land along the foothills of the Himalayan range. Stretching from Nepal to Manas National Park of Assam in the northeast. The stretch of West Bengal includes Mahananda Wildlife sanctuary from Nepal Border to Phipsu National Park of Bhutan till Cooch Behar and further stretching to Assam. It is all along the foothills of Eastern Himalayas, Duars or Dooars is also the gateway to Bhutan from India. The region is green and includes a beautiful tea estate and fascinating wildlife, including leopards, tigers, elephants, and the Indian rhinoceros. Duars is easily accessible from the town / City of Siliguri, Jalpaiguri, Phuentsholling, Alipurduar, Guwahati, and Coochbehar. The altitude of the Dooars region ranges from 90 meters to 1750 meters. It includes few hills. Political boundaries include the plains of Darjeeling District, Jalpaiguri District, Alipurduar & Coochbehar district in West Bengal, and the districts of Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Goalpara, and Bongaigaon in the state of Assam.

National Park & Sanctuary include Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary, Buxa National Park, Gorumara National Park, Chapramari Wildlife Reserve, Neora Valley National Park, and the  Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary in West Bengal & Manas National Park in Assam forms the major portion of Dooars or Duars. Chilapata Forest is a dense jungle area right in the middle of Eastern Dooars, near Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary in Jalpaiguri District of West Bengal, Jaldapara National Park (Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary) in Jalpaiguri district, Historical Cooch Behar Palace, Buxa Tiger Reserve in West Bengal, Buxa Fort, etc. Animals that can be spotted are Bison, deer, elephants herds. Other animals like rhinoceros, Gaur, Asian elephants, Sloth bear, Chital, Bengal Tigers, Indian Wild Dogs, Indian Wolf, Pygmy Hog, Giant Squirrels, Hispid Hare, Sambar Deer, Barking deer, Hog deer, Wild boar, etc can also be spotted.   

Some of the places of interest are Samsing, Sunthalekhola, Jalpesh, Gajoldoba, Khayerbari, Phuentsholling, Buxa Fort, Jhalong, Lepchakha, Rocky Island, Nalgarh, Bindu, and Murti depending upon the length of time one stay. Also included are Jungle Jeep Safari & Elephant Ride. The breeding season of animals is generally during the monsoon. Hence Gorumara National Park, the Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary, the Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary as well as the Buxa Tiger Reserve remains closed from 15th June to 15th September each year. Visit to the various Watch Towers as well as the Jungle Safari of the Gorumara Wildlife Sanctuary are regulated by the Forest Department and is twice during the day in the morning & evening. Tickets are issued to guests on the production of a Photo Identity card for obtaining the tickets of the various Watch Towers. Forest Charges include Gypsy Charges, Guide Charges, Entry Fees Per Gypsy, and Visitor's Entry fees. (A maximum of 06 guests in one Gypsy). One can either book the entire Gypsy by paying the cost of 06 persons or can share it with others. The camera has separate charges. Tickets for the Medhhla Watch Tower are issued from Ramshai Ticket Counters. Tickets for Gorumara Jeep Safari and the Chapramari Forest are issued from the Nature Interpretation Center Ticket Counter at Lataguri (Except for the period when the Forest remains closed). Limited Entry tickets are issued and it is on a first come first serve basis. Gorumara has five watch tower options namely Jatraprosad Watch Tower, Medhla Watch Tower, Chandrachur Watch Tower, Chapramari Entry fees & Chukchuki Watch Tower. Medhla Watch Tower is open and easily assessable. Dooars / Duars offers a multitude of options to visitors like Bird watching, Jungle trails, trekking, angling, Tea Tour, Tea Factory Visit, Fishing, and nature trails.

Eco / Home Stay - These are newly developed units for the last two decades and stretches from Namchi to Pelling. Homestay is scattered all over the hills among various tribes and communities.  We prefer a sustainable community and their homestay. Homestay made out of illegal tree cutting and stolen timber is generally not appreciated. Neither do we offer our guests such a stay. Homestay or Eco stay are places to relax. Good Host, Peace-loving villages, Tea Estates, Tea Factories, Valley, Beautiful Locations, decent food, activities, safety, and security are the major factors attracting guests. Some homestays of the region are situated close to the village and some are isolated. Rajabhatkhawa, Buxa, Jayanti, Bindu, Jhalong, Maynaguri, Magurmari, etc have home stay. Dhupjhora, Mangalbari, Murti river bank, Damdim, Magurmari, Yelbong, Dakshin Dhupjhora, Nutan Para, Murti, Totopara, Dakshin Kantadighi, Rocky Island, Kumarpara, Totopara, Batabari, Mal Bazar, Moulani, Bichbhanga Village, Rahman Guest house, Banarhat, Nagrakata, Diana, is host to few homestay. The host is quite hospitable and offers their best possible food and comfort to guests. The Homestay is generally clean & hygienic. Guests Activities are based on the homestay and its location.
